Instructions for the Troops

Thank you for visiting! First of all, feel free to browse. You can't break anything and anyone can post on my Blog or the Bulletin Board.

There's lots of people that wanted this link so thanks for checking out my web site and special thanks for Jessica C. for setting it up. If you'd like to know more about what Jess can do for your own site, personal or business, I'm pretty sure she's hirable. I think she has a sidekick or two available as well.

Ok, for anyone visiting the first time...this first page is a Blog (the two words "web log" combined = BLOG for short) and will be a place for me to post a diary of experiences over my mobilization. I'll try and detail as much as I can about the Army and what I get to see and where I get to go (within security concerns, of course) and as many pictures as I can upload.

Honestly, this is a record or a diary for my children of what I did or what I attempted to do. I think family historical documention is important as I know I treasure letters from generations past that I stumble upon cleaning out the attic or that old shoebox. They may not appreciate this today, but I'm finding out more and more as I get older, words from ancestors seem to make much more sense to me as I live to be their age. I find how they lived and what we're going thru today is both similiar and not. Anyways, at some point, this can all be printed out, stored and forgotten in the attic until some future generation uncovers it.

So, feel free to add comments to the blog because any comments will be HIGHLY coveted. This will ensure your rightful place (or mystery) in history when someone asks years from now, "who was Edgar, anyways?".

Now, on the right of this page, please follow the link to the Bulletin Board. This is a much more informal communication tool and again, anyone can post on the bulletin board. I might put in some security in the future if we publish some Kukini team photos with names, etc., but the BB is a very informal place to chat. Some people actually "farm" bulletin boards for lovely gifts. Farming is a term used for people who post messages to increase their post count. Every time you post, you get a post count increase and there are some people who spend their day posting or "farming" for post counts. As you will eventually see, posts counts can get pretty high over time when people chat often. Actually, chat is encouraged, so again, feel free to post and farm or just troll (reading without posting).

There, that's all the rules. Post early and post often.

My schedule is as follows. I have an extended Battle Assembly (what they used to call MUTA's) from 6-13 July. I am in Germany from 15 July to 1 Aug and then I'm at the mobilization station starting on 6 Aug, the actual start of the tour (18 months so I've heard).

Thank you to ALL that helped, that was invaluable. We're getting ready to enjoy the 4th of July weekend which will be the last holiday together, so happy 4th to you and please send your best wishes to my Commander in Chief.

I'll try not to be too much of a farmer :-)

Take Care.

Awesome idea yet again. I'm really looking forward to hearing all about your adventures and seeing the pictures you post.

I don't know if I've said it or not, but everyone in your situation deserves a big THANK YOU for your service. It's devoted men and women like you that give us the freedom to do this type of thing. God knows if I had been able to, I'd be serving with you.

GO USA!

Just wanted to extend three big hugs from Vermont, Tim...one from each of us, your buds in the whitest state in the union. Bleah! Hehe. We're thinking of you, praying for you, ALL of you.
